LIVESTOCK from around the British Isles will be doing a grand
tour of Europe this Autumn as the Meat and Livestock Commission
(MLC) and allied organisations visit a series of agricultural
              shows.

Live examples of both sheep and cattle breeds will be on display
at the Polagra show in Poznan, Poland in September, at the Sommet
de L'Elevage show in Cournon, France in October and at the Indagra
show in Bucharest, Romania in November.
Groups which have joined together to help boost the UK's export
markets are: the English Beef and Lamb Executive (EBLEX), the
British Pig Executive (BPEX), Meat Promotion Wales (HCC), Quality
Meat Scotland (QMS) and Livestock and Meat Commission or Northern
                Ireland (LMC).
Jean-Pierre Garnier, MLC Export Manager, said: "While France
is traditionally a very important market for us, we are also
concentrating on making sure the new Eastern European States
know what we have to offer them.
"These shows are imperative for us as a means of increasing
our exports and helping to find new and expanding markets for
                our home producers."
