BRITISH sheep and beef cattle caught the eyes of a stream of potential
buyers on the British Livestock stand at the Polagra Show in Poland.

With the English Beef and Lamb Executive (EBLEX) one of the major
sponsors of the stand, British livestock, in the shape of Limousin
cattle, appeared on display for only the second time since a ban
on live cattle exports from Britain was lifted earlier this year.
In all more than a score of British companies, including several
major breed societies, joined forces on the stand to show off the
best of British livestock and genetics.
Jean-Pierre Garnier, EBLEX Export Manager, said: "We were delighted
at the high level of interest our area received.
"This was only the second time British cattle had been seen
at a European show after an absence of 17 years. I believe prospects
for future trade with Poland are extremely good."
EBLEX is an industry-funded organisation that acts to help the English
beef and lamb industry boost its competitiveness and promote its
            products.
It aims are: to encourage better returns for the English beef and
lamb industry, to stimulate a profitable demand for quality beef
and lamb and to champion the development of a sustainable industry
            through improved profitability.
