All lots offered for sale were keenly bid for, with the leading items being a very well maintained 2006 New Holland TD 80D 2WD Tractor selling for £8,400, a Thomas 85 Skid Steer selling at £6,000 and a Honda Fourtrax 420 ATV (2014) for £3600. The Honda 300 2WD ATV achieved £1,550 and a Vicon 300 Hay Bob sold for £800.

This was the first farm dispersal sale to be held in the Parish of Baldersdale for a number years and it was attended by a large crowd of buyers, who gathered to purchase items and support the retirement of Trevor High.

The prices achieved for the poultry equipment demonstrated that there is still a strong interest in this market. Two Grandpa’s ‘Step On’ Poultry Feeders sold for £80 and £75 respectively, one Hen House achieved £105; the ‘Little Acre Products’ Hen House sold for £90; and two Wooden Poultry Carry Boxes sold for £30 and £24.

There was a small variety of miscellaneous items which created attention including small stone troughs selling for up to £150, fireclay troughs to £55, a boot scraper selling at £75 and a milk churn for £50.

Speaking after the sale Auctioneer Scott Donaldson said:
“Overall, the sale was very successful and fortunately the weather did not dampen the day. We had active bidders throughout, which just demonstrates that there continues to be a keen demand for quality used farm implements, with livestock equipment especially sought after.”

“This first dispersal sale that had been held in the area for some considerable time and it was very well supported by the local community. On behalf of Harrison and Hetherington I would like to offer Trevor High our very best wishes in their retirement.”
