North Yorkshire packaging firm Northern Paper Board, a major supplier to the UK meat and poultry sector, has been shortlisted for two national awards, plus a regional accolade.

The Skipton-based company is among the finalists in both the SME of the Year and Investment Project of the Year categories in the 2012 UK Packaging Awards, and has also been shorlisted for SME Manufacturer of the Year in theYorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards. Winners of both will be announced in November.
Northern Paper Board has grown and diversified to become the UK’s second largest manufacturer of solid board boxes for the food processing industry. It continues to achieve solid year on year growth. In the past three years, turnover has risen from £5.4m to £8.3m and the company is on track to achieve an estimated £9.4m turnover in the current financial year.
Run by brothers John and Paul Curran, Northern Paper Board is undertaking a £2.4m expansion and investment programme at its six-acre site in Engine Shed Lane.
