             The second spring show for the Dumfries and Galloway Branch, Blackface Sheep Breeders Association on Thursday 5th March 2009, was hailed as a great success with over 55 sheep forward and 103 members and friends stockjuding. 
             
             
            The judge for the evening was well known Irish breeder Mr John Harking Loughash Farm, Donemana , Co Tyrone, Northern Ireland, he had the difficult job of placing one of the best shows of Blackface sheep in the district.            
              The Champion from the family team of M/s Kay, Gass came from the largest class of the night the Tup hogg class that had 20 animals forward.   Their winner was the 11,000gns tup from Dalchirla is has a Mouriaho sire and out of the 37,000gns Dyke ewe.
             The reserve champion was the ewe that lifted the Championship award last year,   this ewe,  from the father and son team Graham and Colin McClymont, Cuil, Palnure, Newton Stewart was from their  Glanary flock and is  by the 34,000gns Dalchirla tup.
