Following the recent wet weather, the 2007 Tockwith Show on Saturday
4 August will be held at the Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate,
            rather than its own venue.

Nigel Pulling, Chief Executive of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society
owners of the site said: “We were approached by the Tockwith & District
Show Society and were delighted to be able to help. So many shows
have had to be cancelled because of the rain, which is disappointing
to visitors and exhibitors, as well as to the organisers. We are
in a position to help and are very happy to do so, and are looking
forward to working with the Tockwith team.”

Mr Les Wake, Honorary Secretary of Tockwith said: “We wanted
people to enjoy the show and didn’t want it to become another
casualty of the weather. The Great Yorkshire Showground has permanent
roads and a good deal of hard standing, plus a lot has been spent
on drainage whereas our field has suffered greatly from the rain.”

He added: This is a “one off” and next year’s
show will be back at Tockwith. The gates open at 8.30am and ticket
prices are £5 for adults and there is free entry for under
             16s.
