The show runs from Tuesday 10 - Thursday 12 July when more than
130,000 people are expected to come through the gates of the Great
Yorkshire Showground on the edge of Harrogate over the three days

As a showcase for the farming industry, the Great Yorkshire continues
to remain focussed with agriculture at its heart. "The livestock
classes and the link between the farming industry and the food on
our tables are the fundamental elements of the Show," says Bill
Cowling, the Honorary Show Director. Bill, who farms only a few miles
from the Harrogate site, is committed to ensuring that the Show continues
to be shop window for farmers and a link between them and their customers.

"The Great Yorkshire is where you can see the results some of
the finest farming in the world." he says. "Our cattle,
sheep and pig classes attract record breaking entries and the quality
is such that many go on to win at other top events. The cattle are
always outstanding and the sheep show, which regularly attracts over
1,500 entries, is a show in its own right and we are delighted to
once again be hosting the BPA Pig of the Year Competition. In addition,
completing the link between farmer and customer, we have a superb
Food Hall with every conceivable type of produce to taste and buy,
as well as the chance to talk directly to the producer" he said.

Elsewhere around the showground the packed programme presents the best of country
life, top class show jumping, fashion shows, an art show, cookery theatres, a
