The sheep sector will be given a major boost at the National
                Sheep
Association northern region’s biennial one day event, North
                Sheep 2007 to be
staged on Wednesday, 6 June at North Hanging Wells, Eastgate,
                Bishop
Auckland by kind permission of Messrs M W Skidmore.

The 15th technical event of its kind, North Sheep 2007 will
be building on its previous success with a crowd of more than
8,000 and 200 trade stands. The event will focus on the way ahead
for the British sheep industry as its gears up to the full impact
of the single farm payment regime towards 2012, says the region’s
              designated chairman, Hans Porksen.
“North Sheep 2007 will provide timely information and
advice for all producers seeking to maintain a sustainable and
profitable business as the new payments begin to erode. Furthermore,
our hosts will demonstrate how an efficient, well managed family
hill farm producing high quality progeny to meet changing market
requirements will have a firm future post 2012.”
He adds: “North Sheep will once again raise our industry’s
profile at home and abroad, improve product demand and ultimately,
                boost trade and income.”
