New North East Regional Manager for EBLEX and BPEX

Steve Powdrill, who has spent his working life in the meat industry, is to become Regional Manager for the English Beef and Lamb Executive (EBLEX) and the British Pig Executive (BPEX) in the North East of England.

He takes up the post in the newly created region at the beginning of April.

Steve joined the Meat and Livestock Commission in 1974 and is currently employed as Divisional Manager dealing with areas such as authentication services, OTMS work and farm inspection services.

He will be based at Harrogate and will be responsible for the eastern half of England from the Scottish Border down to South Yorkshire and Humberside.

Senior Regional Manager, Nick Allen, said: "Steve has very wide experience within the meat and livestock industry and we are glad he will be able to put that to good use for our levy payers in the north east of England."

Steve is married with three children and is a keen golf player.
