New Vice Chairman for AIC Board

Stuart Beer has been appointed Vice Chairman of the Agricultural Industries Confederation (AIC) following the organisation's latest board meeting.

Stuart is currently Fertiliser Director of Terra Nitrogen (U.K) Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Terra Industries Inc, and has extensive knowledge and experience of the fertiliser industry.

He has sat on the AIC board since its formation and the appointment comes following the previous vice chairman's decision to take up a new role abroad.

Speaking about his new appointment Stuart said, "In recent years our industry has gone through tremendous change, driven by both business need and political issues.

I will use the experience I have gained during this time to ensure AIC is seen as a highly credible and effective lobbying organisation in the UK and Europe that provides a united industry voice for agriculture and an effective and valued service to its members."

Stuart has also become chairman of AIC's Fertiliser Executive Committee.
